Summary details for Prosymna angolensis

Angola Shovel-snout

Angola Shovel-snout is a fossorial snake which emerges at night to forage for reptile eggs. The shell of the egg is punctured by the maxillary, and the egg is swallowed whole. When threatened, shovel-snouts will wildly coil and uncoil, usually with the head hidden between beneath the coils.

They are harmless.
