Description:

In an effort to increase the population's access to safe drinking water to within walking distance, the Government of Namibia through its Directorate of Rural Water Supply in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry and with assistance from its development partners, has over the years been putting up water infrastructure and rehabilitating old ones with appropriate technologies.

Summary / Notes:

This study investigated this process taking into account the interdependent economic, societal, economic, environmental and institutional aspects of managing water points. 864 water points were target and all possible effort was made to locate all these points.
