Am Vogelfederberg (Namibia): einem Extremstandort für Triops granarius (Crustacea: Branchiopoda: Notostraca) DR. WOLFGANG ZESSIN Seit einigen Jahren besuchen meine Frau Sigrid und ich zum wiederholten Male die ehemalige deutsche Kolonie Südwest Afrika, das spätere südwestafrikanische Mandatsgebiet und heutige Namibia. Auf unseren Reisen haben wir auch wiederholt eine besondere Lokalität aufgesucht, die inmitten der Namibwüste als markanter Granitfelsen auf unserem Weg lag und wo wir immer einen Halt einlegten, entomologisch, geologisch und botanisch tätig wurden und natürlich auch fotografierten. Leider war es uns bisher nicht vergönnt, den Vogelfederberg einmal nach Regen zu erleben, der hier selten fällt. Dann soll sich hier auch die Art Triops granarius entwickeln. Auch in diesem Jahr (März 2018) werden wir wieder den interessanten Felsen aufsuchen und aus den potenziellen "triopshöffigen" Senken im Granit versuchen, Sand mit Eiern zu entnehmen. Darüber und über die Suche nach Triops granarius im Erongogebirge soll berichtet werden. In diesem schönen Gebirge, das auch isoliert in der Namib liegt, haben wir schon heftigen Regen erlebt, der die Senken mit Wasser gefüllt hat und wo wir auch Kaulquappen und Wasserschildkröten beobachten konnten, aber leider bisher noch keine Triops granarius fanden. Eine weitere Lokalität, die Triops granarius verspricht, ist der sogenannte Brandberg, auch er in der Namib gelegen und eine Oase inmitten der Wüste.
